South Africa’s TV personality and alcohol brand boss Kelly Khumalo will finally crown her exciting life with a reality show.
The reality show ‘Life with Kelly Khumalo’ finally has a debut date and fans will finally get to see all the drama unfold on the show.
The award-winning songstress revealed last month that she was working on the reality show but it was halted due to the coronavirus lockdown regulations but as regulations eased she was able to resume shooting.
“I cannot give so many details, but all I can say is that thank God that we are on level 3 and we are allowed to move around and be able to continue shooting,” said Kelly.
Now, more details surrounding the show have been revealed, the 13-episode show will make its debut on streaming service Showmax on August 6.
Kelly said: “The show is so real and unscripted.”
The reality show is produced by the king of reality show’s Legend Manqele, founder of BarLeader TV, who is behind shows such as Kwa Ma’Mkhize, Living the Dream with Somizi and Being Bonang.
Legend told the publication that the show ” is kind of your popular Uyajola 9/9 reality show.
“Confrontations and family conflicts are going to be happening for the very first time in front of the audience. This is part of her healing process and spiritual journey.”
Kelly’s children Christian (10) and Thingo (6) will be featured on the show.
Khumalo’s latest single Empini and the hit Undithatha Kancinci from her previous album, are the theme songs of the show.
“Every day we are going through a war. The message is quite broad in the song, not only from my personal experiences,” Khumalo said.
“As we speak, our country is going through a tough time. We are facing gender-based violence against women and children, and racism.”
She said her album would be released in October, but the pre-orders would be out next month. Empini was written by talented Durban producer and composer Mondli Ngcobo.
Khumalo said that, despite these being difficult times, people should not be discouraged: “The lockdown has taught us to reflect on ourselves, reboot and stall over again. It is not the end of us.
“We must never lose hope and give up.”
